\nA few years ago Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” bill, later modified to be a “Jail the Gays” law, drew the ire of the world.<\/p>\n

Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), is the leading organization in Uganda courageously defying and denouncing this unjust law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his first-ever visit  to Chicago, meet and hear firsthand from Pepe-Julian Onziema<\/strong>, SMUG’s Program Director, on how to improve the rights and livelihoods of African LGBTs.<\/p>\n

The Gay Liberation Network<\/a><\/strong> is proud to be hosting Mr. Onziema on our live cable TV program at 6:30 PM to 6:55 PM this Friday night on Cable Channel 21 in Chicago.<\/p>\n

We are proud to be part of a large coalition, led by the Legacy Project<\/a><\/strong>, which is hosting two in-person events with Mr. Onziema this weekend:<\/p>\n

1 PM to 3 PM, Saturday, July 11<\/strong><\/span>
\nReception\/fundraiser with Pepe-Julian Onziema<\/strong> on the rooftop at SideTrack, 3349 N. Halsted. This is Mr. Onziema’s first visit to Chicago, where he will see the Legacy Walk bronze memorial marker to his best friend, slain Ugandan activist David Kato. The event will benefit bullied youth through the Legacy Project Education Initiative. $30 per person tickets include two drink tickets.
