Friday, April 28 -- Bertha Cáceres Memorial Tour! Berta Cáceres was Honduras' was her country's most prominent indigenous and campesino leader who was assassinated on March 3, 2016, for her work in defense of the Lenca people and against patriarchy, capitalism, and racism. Join two of Cáceres' closest co-thinkers, afro-indigenous writer and activist Melissa Cardoza, and beloved Honduran jazz/folk protest singer Karla Lara, for the Chicago leg of their national tour demanding a cut off of military aid to the Honduran oligarchy. Monday, May 1 -- March on May Day! Work stay-away, schools walk out to protest the attacks on immigrants, Muslims, women and others! 1 pm, Union Park, corner of Ashland Avenue and Randolph Street. Please join and share the Facebook event. More details TBA.
