For years, workers at Chicago Access Network TV have confronted abysmally low pay and management’s refusal to consider their creative input.

The Gay Liberation Network has proudly hosted a monthly show on CAN TV for over a decade and have benefited greatly from the talent and dedication of the staff (watch previous GLN shows and other videos here and here).

In August 2015 CAN TV workers voted 17 to 2 to join a union, Local 41 of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians – Communications Workers of America (NABET – CWA).

But they still lack a contract, and management has struck back by cutting workers’ hours and a campaign of harassment for petty infractions.
